JCK Las Vegas 2026 Recap

Color took center stage in Las Vegas, and the shift toward colored gemstones feels stronger than ever.

This year’s JCK and AGTA GemFair Las Vegas shows made one thing very clear: colored gemstones are having a real moment. Across the show floor, buyers were serious, engaged, and actively searching for fine and unusual stones. Even with higher gold prices and an uncertain market, demand for color remains strong, with many retailers seeing colored gemstones as a way to offer customers something more personal, distinctive, and valuable than traditional diamond-focused designs.

We also saw growing interest in colored stones for bridal, especially sapphires, emeralds, rubies, spinels, tourmalines, and even zircons. More customers are embracing color as the center stone in engagement rings, while designers are increasingly sourcing stones first and building custom pieces around them. The biggest takeaway from Vegas was simple: color is no longer just an alternative. It is becoming a major driver of creativity, individuality, and margin for jewelers.

Part of what makes colored gemstones so exciting right now is the range they give retailers and designers. Each stone carries its own character, origin, color story, and rarity, which makes the finished piece feel more personal from the start. As customers look for jewelry that feels unique rather than expected, color gives jewelers a stronger way to tell a story, create distinction, and offer something that cannot be easily duplicated.
